Hot air balloons!
October 14th, 2009 by ehorne
I saw this picture of hot air balloons and decided that my post would be about it! I’ve always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon just so that i could say that I’ve done it. I think that this image is pretty cool because it shows different sizes and colors that the balloons could be. It looks as if they are in a race. I wouldn’t want to be in a race, but I would still want to ride in one!

One of my favorite interests
October 13th, 2009 by ehorne
One of my favorite interests is running. I’m on my school’s cross country team. A lot of people think that it’s too much work, but I think that the challenge makes it better! I think that it’s awesome that I can say that I have worked up to being able to run seven miles straight. MapMyRun is a really cool website where you can find routes in your area to run. Check out this runner’s blog! He posts what he runs and all of his times. Although I’m not the best runner I still think it’s fun!

What I Learned About 5 Different Bloggers…
October 8th, 2009 by ehorne
I commented on five different people’s blogs from five different countries and I learned that the kids aren’t that much different than kids are in the U.S.
Joel from Australia enjoys hockey which is a sport that a lot of people play in America. He uses different wording though, such as mates and mental which I thought was interesting. Génesis from Venezuela likes music and playing volleyball. I think that the little slide shows on her blog are cool. Eagle15 from Hong Kong runs cross country (like me) and he mentions participating in a lot of sports (unlike me). Daniel from Canada is really into video games. He has a lot of interesting posts and he is actually a winner of the Edublog challenge. Jayna from Thailand has a good blog and the posts range from book reviews to discussing how the climate changes in Bangladesh are impacting the children.

Compare your school…
October 5th, 2009 by ehorne
Hola! So, one of the challenges for week three is to write a post that you think that a lot of people will comment on. This is rightly named a challenge because I haven’t really had people commenting at all. I understand that I don’t have that many posts to begin with but I would love for people to comment and give me tips in order to have a better blogging experience. I’ve decided that since most or all of the people on Edublog are attending a school I will center my post around that!
My school has a lot of rules (too many if you ask the student body) but yours may have more. Tell me the differences and/or similarities.
The dress code at our school is something that most students complain about even though we don’t have to wear school uniforms. If wearing jeans, there can’t be any holes above the knees. If wearing skirts, dresses, or shorts, they can’t go above the knees. Boys at our school aren’t allowed to have any facial hair and their hair can’t be any longer than short. If their eyes, ears, or some part of their necks can’t be seen then the hair MUST be cut. No one is allowed to have any unnatural colors in their hair. I’m guessing that means pink, blue, green, purple, etc.
Something that may be different is that when we are late for a class we get a morning detention and a tardy instead of just a tardy.
Go ahead and tell me about your school!

Me gusta…
September 30th, 2009 by ehorne
Me gusta jugar al golf, correr y me gusta leer. La clase de arte es mi favorita porque es fácil y divertida. Usualmente, voy a la pratica de cross country después de escuela. Estoy emocionada sobre Homecoming porque tenemos una vez cada tres años.

Why I am entering the Edublog Challenge!
September 23rd, 2009 by ehorne
This is the first year my school is entering the Edublog challenge and my first blog as well. Our Spanish 3 teacher asked us to enter this contest and I thought that it would be a good opportunity for my class and I to learn Spanish in a different way and to discuss our topics with different people from all over. I hope that by doing this I will have a better understanding of Spanish and how other people view the topics. It seems like a lot of fun and something completely different than what I’m used to!
